Harper's Climate Inaction Kills Jobs

Climate Inaction Kills Jobs
Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have no plan to tackle climate change. No plan for clean energy. No plan to prepare Canada to compete in tomorrow’s economy.
Instead of working constructively with other countries on solutions, his government has just pulled Canada out of the Kyoto Protocol—the world’s only climate change treaty.
Time after time, these Conservatives have sided with big polluters instead of moving forward on clean energy. And our trading partners have had enough.
Now Stephen Harper’s environmental inaction isn’t just hurting our planet. It’s turning off investors and trading partners — and that’s killing Canadian jobs. This is simply unacceptable.
Countries are slamming the door on Canadian energy and the jobs they support. President Obama rejected the Keystone pipeline because Ottawa has failed to clean up the oilsands. EU representatives say they won’t support our energy sector until the Conservatives clean up their act.
It doesn’t have to be this way. New Democrats have a practical plan to move Canada forward, instead of falling behind under Stephen Harper.
Moving forward means working constructively with other countries to build a low-emissions global economy. And it means investing strategically to spark a thriving and competitive clean energy sector in Canada.
Canadians are world-class innovators. Instead of subsidizing big polluters, Canada could be leading the way by creating whole new sectors of good-paying jobs. Jobs in green manufacturing, engineering and construction. Quality value-added jobs. The kinds of jobs families need in times like these. That’s what New Democrats are fighting for — and we want you to be part of it.

My name is David Murray and I am currently on City Council in the City of Pitt Meadows British Columbia.
I ran Federally for the New Democratic Party in 2011 in Abbotsford and with the great team we had in place had the distinction of being the only riding in Western Canada that doubled our NDP vote!
I am the Editor of the Pitt Meadows Today Community Online Newspaper which together with its sister papers the Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Langley Today are receiving 250,000 hits a month!
